Wow I’ve finally got back in

I’ve finally managed to get back into this blog .

I’ve tried for such a long time to get back into it - today must be my lucky day .

So I’ll reintroduce myself

I’m Jo - I’m married to Paul and have two boys who are now 21( nearly 22 ) and 19.

We currently have 7 cats - including Rosie who is the only one I would have had when I last posted ( amongst others who have since passed ) .

I really want to aim to post regularly again

Temperature Blanket 2017

This is the Temperature Blanket that I made during 2017
It ended up being about 8’ by 6’, it’s so heavyand big but super warm , both boys and myself have sat snuggled under it on many occasion since it was finished in early January this year.

My latest project isn’t my usual colours

My current crochet project is far from my usual colours , I’m currently working on a blanket that has a Grey,Yellow and White colour palette ,inspired by a post I saw on Instagram . I know this colour combo has been popular for years but until now it’s never appealed to me

Wow I really am rubbish

I really am rubbish at keeping this blog active .
Life has been somewhat mental ,my health hasn’t been great neither has Reuben’s .
Epilepsy still has a firm grip on our lives but Reu doesn’t let it stop him.
Zac is looking forward to going to college in September to study Performing Arts ,and Reu is going to start on his GCSEs pathway including studying Food and Nutrition, Performing Arts and  Horticulture .
I’ve been busy crocheting this year , in fact last night I started my 37 th crochet project since New Years Day, 1 has been frogged,6 are on going and the rest have all been finished - I discovered the joy of using bigger hooks.
Church has been great this past year, I’ve strengthened friendships and made new ones, it’s also been hard losing several dear church members who were friends, but as a church we all learnt so much ,including the fact - no remembering - that we need not grieve like non-Christians but remember and celebrate the lives of our friends , and that we will meet them again in Glory.

Wow it's been awhile

so it's been awhile since I last posted .
Life has been a bit hectic, Reu has been particularly unwell with his epilepsy ,so was in hospital for tests recently.
Crochet has been my saving therapeutic outlet, so I've actually got quite a lot done recently - included  2 scarfs, with another 2 in the process of being made.
Support from family ( both actual and church) has been great- I'm so glad to have such a caring supportive church that is filled with medically trained people who have been both reassuring and helpful , as have all my church family .
My eldest Zac is now 15 - which gave me an emotional wobble - coupled with turning 36 myself recently.

I've decided to make a temperature blanket

I've decided to make a blanket to represent the temperature each day for the whole of 2017. I've picked out my colour palettes and chosen my temperature range. I hope I can keep it going all year

Quickest blanket ever

I finished a blanket today that I only started a fortnight ago
The blanket is made up of 60 separate granny squares, which have then been joined together in 6 rows of 10.  Each square consists 9 rounds , using double knit yarn and a 2:5mm hook.
Working to a deadline was a challenge, it had to be ready before NYE, but I enjoyed it, even if it did cause my dermatitis to flare up

Wow such a long time since I've blogged

I suddenly thought of my blog today and decided to resurrect it once again

Well it's nearly Christmas- Zac and Reuben broke up from school yesterday- Paul should be finished with work early next week- I've virtually finished my Christmas shopping

Currently working on a single bed sized crochet blanket in different shades of purple - that needs to finished before New Year's Eve - only my 5th paid commission for a friend from school - I'm half way done with the squares so I'm on track

I think this blog goes back about 7 years but I've never consistently blogged - hopefully in the new year this is going to change -as I've got back into keeping a journal as well and blogs normally get kept when I'm journaling too

Loving church life - loving being part of the Sound team - tomorrow night I'm on sound for the Candlelit service - we have another in on Christmas Eve also - it's such a privilege to serve my church in this way and really hope in some small way that I'm a part of people hearing God's word ✝️

First post in ages

Since my last post,Reuben has started year 7 and Zac has started year 9, I feel old having both children in comp, but also a little lonely being at home from 7-4:30 , but it does mean that me and Paul can sometimes go out for lunch together,or for a a bike/skate ride and not have to rush back.
The joys of comp age children and owning your own business

Reuben's epilepsy is as yet uncontrolled
Also started Cwtch Crochet,a page on Facebook,to show off and possibly sell my crochet blankets

Phew

Been a busy few days, with trips to the Gps and hospital, for myself, for test, query early menopause, there I've said it outloud
The. Yesterday I had a day out at the local Lido with reuben, including some outdoor crocheting.this was all a distraction technique as I have a family member who is quite poorly at the moment, who lives away,so getting updates via text etc.
Next week we have a neuro appt for Reuben, that will hopefully see him put back on epilepsy meds, which will mean he will have a few weeks of them in his system before starting comp in september

Really should get dressed

I'm sitting here in my pjs, crocheting ,faffing on the iPad and listening to Kate Bush AeRial
I really should get dressed, but I'm enjoying the peace, hubby has just gone to work, and Zac and Reuben are still in bed,the street is so quite for once

Monday, 3 August 2015

Another early start

Was up at 6:30 which wouldn't that been so bad but I didn't got to bed until 2:30
Got loads of washing and drying done to day, stripped and remade three beds
Reuben delivered the blanket to a friend for her preemie baby
Reuben has been out all day at a friends and Zca has been in his room,so I've had the TV to myself,a rarity and also done a fair amount of crochet
Tonight I.'mOff for a girly catch up at Loras 's a spot of crochet and a catch up

Morning,early start here today

Well I was awake at 6 this morning and up at 6:30 which would have been early enough if it hadn't been that me and paul were up talking until 2:30 about sound and music, and watching music/sound recording documentaries.
Had a fab day yesterday with amount, had two amazing service thanks to Paul Blackham and Tom Martyn, then had after church music and food and then a bonfire on the beach, what a fab day spent with family and church family

Wow longtime no post

I thought it was time to resurrect my blog
So much has happened since I last posted but I will try a cut down version
I'm still a stay at home mum
Zac is about to go into year 9 in comp
Reuben is about to start comp in Septmeber
He is recovering well from the stroke, he now uses a leg splint to aid his walking
But the epilepsy he had as a toddler has resurfaced, no fits for 8 yrs and off meds for 6 and they suddenly reappear
So we have a neuro appt on 19th of August and will hopefully be put back on meds

Mixed bag sort of day

This morning started out fab, I had my Ladies bible study @ Mount which I always find encouraging whilst thought provoking, gently rebuking on times.
Then grabbed a quick sandwich before a meeting @ school with the educational psychologist to do with Reuben's assessment for statementing, which went fine, but after returning home I began to feel very down and tearful, I think sometimes these meetings where I have to go back over what has happened to Reuben and who's the stroke has affected him ,really get to me,I'm not sure if I have ever really dealt with " it" , I'm just so thankfully to God that he has given me a good close family and a very loving church family to help me through these times, and I know that God is there and all I need to do is pray to him for help and peace through his Holy Spirit and remember all that Jesus has done for me x
