Wow I’ve finally got back in

I’ve finally managed to get back into this blog .

I’ve tried for such a long time to get back into it - today must be my lucky day .

So I’ll reintroduce myself

I’m Jo - I’m married to Paul and have two boys who are now 21( nearly 22 ) and 19.

We currently have 7 cats - including Rosie who is the only one I would have had when I last posted ( amongst others who have since passed ) .

I really want to aim to post regularly again

Temperature Blanket 2017

This is the Temperature Blanket that I made during 2017
It ended up being about 8’ by 6’, it’s so heavyand big but super warm , both boys and myself have sat snuggled under it on many occasion since it was finished in early January this year.

My latest project isn’t my usual colours

My current crochet project is far from my usual colours , I’m currently working on a blanket that has a Grey,Yellow and White colour palette ,inspired by a post I saw on Instagram . I know this colour combo has been popular for years but until now it’s never appealed to me

Wow I really am rubbish

I really am rubbish at keeping this blog active .
Life has been somewhat mental ,my health hasn’t been great neither has Reuben’s .
Epilepsy still has a firm grip on our lives but Reu doesn’t let it stop him.
Zac is looking forward to going to college in September to study Performing Arts ,and Reu is going to start on his GCSEs pathway including studying Food and Nutrition, Performing Arts and  Horticulture .
I’ve been busy crocheting this year , in fact last night I started my 37 th crochet project since New Years Day, 1 has been frogged,6 are on going and the rest have all been finished - I discovered the joy of using bigger hooks.
Church has been great this past year, I’ve strengthened friendships and made new ones, it’s also been hard losing several dear church members who were friends, but as a church we all learnt so much ,including the fact - no remembering - that we need not grieve like non-Christians but remember and celebrate the lives of our friends , and that we will meet them again in Glory.

Wow it's been awhile

so it's been awhile since I last posted .
Life has been a bit hectic, Reu has been particularly unwell with his epilepsy ,so was in hospital for tests recently.
Crochet has been my saving therapeutic outlet, so I've actually got quite a lot done recently - included  2 scarfs, with another 2 in the process of being made.
Support from family ( both actual and church) has been great- I'm so glad to have such a caring supportive church that is filled with medically trained people who have been both reassuring and helpful , as have all my church family .
My eldest Zac is now 15 - which gave me an emotional wobble - coupled with turning 36 myself recently.

I've decided to make a temperature blanket

I've decided to make a blanket to represent the temperature each day for the whole of 2017. I've picked out my colour palettes and chosen my temperature range. I hope I can keep it going all year

Quickest blanket ever

I finished a blanket today that I only started a fortnight ago
The blanket is made up of 60 separate granny squares, which have then been joined together in 6 rows of 10.  Each square consists 9 rounds , using double knit yarn and a 2:5mm hook.
Working to a deadline was a challenge, it had to be ready before NYE, but I enjoyed it, even if it did cause my dermatitis to flare up
